Pinnacle Develops Industry First Hybrid Redemption Room
KDB (Kitchen Den Bar) the latest concept addition to the portfolio of Trifecta Management Group of Agura Hills, CA, recently opened in Columbus, OH and Long Beach, CA. Trifecta selected Pinnacle to design the state of the art Hybrid Redemption Room, and also selected Redemption Plus as its lead merchandise supplier. The companies collaborated on several client projects over the years. Michael Auger, Trifecta principal, and George McAuliffe, president of Pinnacle, had spent hours discussing the pros and cons of traditional Redemption Centers versus Redemption Rooms. As McAuliffe recently told International Bowling Industry, a leading trade publication, “my concern with rooms is that they disconnect the games from the merchandise. Since prizes drive game play, containing the merchandise in a separate room erects visual barriers between prizes and players.” On the other hand there are many benefits to delivering the “retail touch and feel shopping experience” that a Redemption Room offers. Solution: a best of both worlds approach. Pinnacle/Redemption Plus Redemption Center expert Jim Kipper created a design which removes the “fourth wall,” opening up the interior of the Redemption Room by utilizing waist high displays and design features on the game room wall.
Jim’s solution allows customers to enter a designated, secure area to shop for redemption merchandise at their leisure. At the same time the merchandise is visually integrated into the game room, and the all important visual/emotional connection between the merchandise and games is maintained.
